Fairhurst Buckley Sponsorship Kicks on with Stockport County Community Trust.
Stockport based Fairhurst Buckley has kicked off its first sponsorship season with Stockport County Community Trust by supporting the Parkinson Wellbeing Programme for the next 12 months.
The Community Trust’s Parkinson’s Wellbeing Programme provides support for local people living with the condition by delivering physical activity projects to help ease and manage their symptoms. An indoor walking football session takes place every Tuesday, followed by a gentle movement and stretching session on Friday, both of which are run by fully trained Community Trust staff.
Fairhurst Buckley, who has been at the centre of commercial and industrial property services in Stockport for over 20 years, is delighted for the business to be getting behind such a great initiative as Dave Buckley, Director and head of agency, explains:
“As a business rooted in Stockport, we are passionate about connecting with both our business community and with our local charities sector. Each year, the team at Fairhurst Buckley selects a local charity to be our ‘charity of the year’. As supporters of Stockport County FC and having been introduced to Stockport County’s Community Trust, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to sponsor their Parkinson’s Wellbeing Programme.
“I’ve been lucky enough to join in a walking football session and have seen first-hand how much the players value their time on the pitch and how much they all enjoy the chance to be themselves. I have a feeling that one season may not be enough for us”!
Alison Warwood, CEO of Stockport Community Trust says:
“As the charitable arm of Stockport County Football Club, the Community Trust is dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable members in our community.
Our Parkinson’s Programme offers vital support by helping participants improve mobility, confidence, and wellbeing while fostering a strong sense of community.
“We’re passionate about working with businesses that care about making a difference locally and we’re delighted that Fairhurst Buckley are sponsoring our Parkinson programme – their support will help us to continue to bring people together, break down barriers and create opportunities that change lives.”
Stockport County welcome new players and participants to its Wellbeing Programmes who can enquire by email. If any businesses would like to support Stockport County’s Community programmes, they are welcome to contact Karina Perry.
