Fairhurst Buckley make Senior appointment to further expand Building Consultancy Team.
Stockport based commercial property specialist Fairhurst Buckley has strengthened its Building Consultancy team with the appointment of Emily Blight as Senior Building Surveyor.
Emily, who holds an MSc and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), joins from Manchester based Livingcity Group. Her addition marks the third recent new hire to the team following Dan Whelan’s appointment at Associate Director level and Charlotte Cook as Graduate Building Surveyor.
Fairhurst Buckley Director and Head of Building Consultancy, John MacMillan, expressed enthusiasm about Emily’s appointment, citing the current recruitment challenges in the sector:
“Recruitment within our sector is challenging to say the least which is why I’m delighted to have such a well-respected and experienced Chartered Surveyor as Emily to the Building Consultancy Team.
“Recent appointments to the team are as a result of new client wins and significant new contracts. Our pipeline into 2025 and beyond is stronger than ever and as such we are now looking to bolster the team with the appointment of an Architectural Technologist which would be a first for Fairhurst Buckley.”
Emily’s background, which spans both building consultancy and commercial agency work with firms like Savills and Countrywide, positions her as a key player in supporting the company’s growth strategy.
Commenting on her new role, Emily added:
“I’m thrilled to be joining Fairhurst Buckley at a time of extensive growth for the business. Although I already have wide experience within the commercial property sector, I am keen to learn. By working with John, his fellow directors and the rest of the Building Consultancy team, I am looking forward to further extending my knowledge as well as playing an active supporting role across the organisation. In previous roles I have been part of the team leading on diversity and inclusion, an area that I am keen to pursue in my new role.”
In addition to her RICS qualifications, Emily holds a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Flyer ID and drone theory certification, a Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card for Managers and Professionals, and NVQ qualifications in Residential Sales from City and Guilds.
