A highly experienced Chartered Building Surveyor, Dan’s emphasis at Fairhurst Buckley is on commercial, retail, and industrial properties although his qualifications and experience enable him to provide all general building surveying services. As an Associate Director of the company, he is responsible for supporting the growth of the Building Consultancy team.

Awarded a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying from Salford University and chartership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Dan is also a qualified Retrofit Coordinator and holds a level 3 certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment.

Dan’s previous role was with AG Built Environmental Consultancy where he was on the Commercial Building Surveying team and was involved with acquisitions, dilapidations and project management.

Dan recently managed a team of 8 surveyors and 10 contractors to deliver a portfolio of maintenance works to 700 residential properties within the Northwest of England.

Away from work Dan’s time revolves around family, fitness, and sport. When he isn’t enjoying time with his partner, his stepson Oakley and their beagle Bernie, Dan can be found either in the gym, running (he has completed the Manchester half marathon), watching sport (including football and cricket) or taking his season-ticketed seat to watch Manchester United.

Although not a massive reader of books Ant Middleton’s biography inspired him to test his stamina and grit. In 2022 he gave up his seat at Old Trafford (temporarily), packed a very large backpack (including a stash of his favourite Picnic bars), and took a 6-month sabbatical to travel. Many thousands of miles away from the world of property, Dan’s explorations took him to Thailand, Vietnam, Bali, Australia, and New Zealand with the highlights being sky diving in Abel Tasman in New Zealand (fearless) and a three-day motorcycle trip ‘Ha Giang Loop’ in the northern mountains of Vietnam (intrepid)! Next stop on his personal travel bucket list is South America, he may even learn the lingo to help him on his way.
