Building Surveyor

BSc (Hons)

Phone: 0161 476 9486

An ambitious post-graduate with a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in building surveying, Charlotte assists the team with the full range of building surveying services including design and specification, contract administration, and the preparation of condition surveys.

Prior to joining Fairhurst Buckley, Charlotte previously worked in housing disrepair, surveying housing association properties and liaising between tenants and landlords. Having examined and reported back on issues and advising on remedial works, Charlotte has been able to agree mutually beneficial outcomes for both tenants and landlords while gaining valuable experience with level 2 homebuyers and thermography surveys.

As of September 2024, she is currently working towards gaining MRICS accreditation and hoping to take the final assessment this time next year.

And when she’s neither working or studying, Charlotte enjoys making pottery, bike riding and long nature walks with her partner and their dog, (geocaching along the way).

Any secret ambitions? To learn a second language, French. “I have a deep appreciation for historic architecture and breathing life back into pieces of history. Given the chance my dream would be to purchase and fully revive an abandoned 15th century chateau in the south of France (doing as much of the work myself as possible). This is most likely a pipedream as my partner is a classical singer and not well versed in DIY or manual labour.”

Currently reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (one of the best!), in contrast, Charlotte’s recent reads include Ikigai (The Japanese secret to a long and happy life) by Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles.
